About Managed Infrastructure
When left alone, any system or machine rots. To maintain quality, systems and machines need to be patched, monitored and upgraded when the time comes. Managed Infrastructure is a service that handles all of this for you. Resources onboarded to Managed Infrastructure, are actively monitored for any issues, have their systems patched on a regular basis and receive maintenance whenever it is needed.
For Smart Homes
You might want to get compute for running self hosted applications at home or storage for taking control of your data. Managed Infrastructure enables you to reap all the benefits of managing your own data and using great software, without the operational overhead of all the maintenance involved.
For Cloud Services
Leveraging my Cloud Services product in tandem with Managed Infrastructure means you unlock the ultimate managed experience for your deployment. With everything from cost, management and monitoring being taken care of, you can focus on what you do best.

Pricing
Managed Infrastructure has two versions available, dependent on what is the product that the infrastructure to be managed, belongs to.
Smart Home Services
Managed Infrastructure is available for Smart Home Services customers that are using Compute Services and Storage Services. Other services such as Networking Services or Smart Home Control, which tend to be all in one units that receive direct updates from the manufacturer, are managed with a separate support model.
Some Compute Services products, will have Managed Infrastructure included in their pricing, so an additional subscription is not required.
Managed Infrastructure for Smart Home Services is billed on the following:
- Service Fee = A monthly subscription fee that is charged per enrolled device. A singular Compute Services node, would be considered one enrolled device. A pair of Storage Services nodes would be considered two enrolled devices.

Cloud Services
Managed Infrastructure is required for all resources that form part of your Cloud Services deployment. Resources are defined as any deployed services that power your deployment. Say for example a singular EC2 server would be considered one resource. A distributed web set up, with an RDS instance, two EC2 instances and an Elastic Load Balancer, would be considered four resources.
Resources are organised by Tiers that determine the overall fee applied to manage that resource.
- Tier A = Infrastructure as a Service resources, such as EC2 instances, Azure Virtual Machines, DigitalOcean droplets, etc.
- Tier B = Platform as a Service resources or resources semi-managed by the underlying provider, such as RDS databases, Load balancing services, Serverless functions, etc
- Tier C = Kubernetes Cluster Management
Other cloud provider services, may be exempt from Managed Infrastructure. For example a VPC, or the snapshots of an EBS volume, could be exempt. When your overall architecture for your Cloud Services deployment is finalised, you will receive a list of all the resources involved and a breakdown of the cost.
Managed Infrastructure for Cloud Services is billed on the following:
- Service Fee = A monthly subscription fee that is charged per enrolled resource. This fee depends on the Tier of resource being charged as described above
