Website Updates Coming Soon

Implementing some quality of life updates
I’ve maintained some form of personal website for at least six years now, so it’s inevitable some form of change has to happen. The website I have now is fairly different to one that I had initially. You get to learn what you like and dislike in terms of layout and overall scheme of the website. So, I’m planning on making some incremental changes (least I hope they’re incremental) to make things a more overall enjoyable experience.
Some changes, involve just a content uplift. While I’ve been relatively okay at maintaining my blog, there are other pages of this website that are rather, graduate level content. For example, I still have my final year project on display on the front of the website and while yes, I’m still proud of it, I’ve worked on a few other projects since then. I’d also like to implement an RSS feed for the website, just in case someone does follow every single blog post of mine and they want to have new posts in their reader.
Some other things, include fixing some bugs such as how blog post titles don’t wrap on mobile, are on the list as well. Since I’ve started doing more focused blog post series like Self Hosting Log, I’d like to adjust my footer in those posts to be more friendly towards viewing all the posts in that series. I flirted with the idea of changing my blog from being Jekyll based to Hugo based, but such a shift I felt would delay the project and possibly delay any new content coming out. I think it’s best to stick with what I know, not to mention I solved one of my biggest gripes of long-ish build times, recently enough. In a similar vein to site build times, I want to explore possibly changing how this website is deployed. Fargate is great but if I can configure S3 and CloudFront to serve static content from a “nice url” IE my-lovely-post as versus my-lovely-post.html then that would be amazing.
So, quite literally, watch this space haha. The changes will hopefully be small and frequent as versus one big bang approach, but I’m looking forward to working on it and improving things!
Thank you!
You could of consumed content on any website, but you went ahead and consumed my content, so I'm very grateful! If you liked this, then you might like this other piece of content I worked on.

I've no real claim to fame when it comes to good photos, so it's why the header photo for this post was shot by XPS . You can find some more photos from them on Unsplash. Unsplash is a great place to source photos for your website, presentation and more! But it wouldn't be anything without the photographers who put in the work.

I write for the love and passion I have for technology. Just reading and sharing my articles is more than enough. But if you want to offer more direct support, then you can support the running costs of my website by donating via Stripe. Only do so if you feel I have truly delivered value, but as I said, your readership is more than enough already. Thank you :)
